Blyxa japonica is a newer plant in the hobby that is quickly gaining more popularity. It grows densely and require moderate lighting and well-rounded fertilization to prosper. Under high lighting it can grow even more dense and even appear red. With more moderate lighting it will become a dark shade of green.
