  • Description

Like it’s green counterpart Alternanthera bettzickiana Red is a 4-12” plant originating from Central and South America. This red plant is among one of the easiest to maintain it’s red color, most often only needing extra iron addition, although high nitrates and phosphates increase it’s growth rate and quality. It does well in a wide variety of PH (6.5-7.6 is comfortable) which is just one of the factors that makes this plant an easy to moderate plant for aquarists. To propagate, simply cut the stems and replant, and with the proper lighting this plant can grow quite quickly, even emerged. Fertilization is recommended for this plant.
